50000 - 60000 per annumNorwich, EnglandPermanentLead Electrical Design EngineerA leading UK manufacturer in the premium marine sector is hiring a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join its in-house design team on a permanent basis. This role would suit an experienced electrical design engineer from marine, automotive, motorsport, aerospace, off-highway or other complex engineered products, who enjoys owning design output from concept through to production support.The opportunityYou'll lead the delivery of detailed electrical design information for high-value products, supporting build, change control, and continuous improvement. This is a technical, detail-driven role where your drawings and schedules directly support production.Key responsibilitiesOwn and maintain electrical design standards across the product rangeProduce, check, update and issue 2D electrical schematics and panel drawings (AutoCAD)Create accurate cable/harness routing schedules, aligned to installation and manufacturing constraintsLead and manage the design change request / engineering change process for electrical designDeliver design packs to agreed timescales and quality standardsWork closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure designs are buildable and consistentContribute to continuous improvement, value engineering and R&D activityEssential skills & experienceStrong background in electrical design engineering (AC/DC systems) within a relevant engineering environmentConfident producing detailed 2D CAD electrical drawings (AutoCAD preferred)Good understanding of design-for-manufacture / design-for-installation principlesStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesConfident communicator who can collaborate across design, production and supply chain teamsCompetent with MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)DesirableExperience in marine electrical systems or small craft installation practicesDigital switching / networked control systems experienceLighting systems integration experienceExposure to hybrid / electrified systems18th Edition wiring regulations (or equivalent)
