Job Opportunity: ESG Consultant


Location: London/Surrey (Hybrid - 3 days in the office per week)


Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 (Depending on Experience)


Our client is seeking a hands-on ESG Consultant to join their consultancy. This role focuses on delivering client-focused, end-to-end ESG projects, utilizing expertise in ESG frameworks such as TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and other sustainability frameworks, with a specific focus on carbon accounting and reporting.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead the delivery of client-focused ESG projects, managing them from inception through to completion while ensuring alignment with client sustainability goals and objectives.
  • Apply ESG frameworks, including TCFD, GRI, CSRD, ISSB, SFDR and SASB to help clients measure, manage, and report on their ESG performance.
  • Develop and manage carbon accounting processes, calculating and reporting carbon footprints, and advising clients on strategies for carbon reduction and offsetting.
  • Prepare detailed ESG Annual Reports and TCFD-aligned disclosures, effectively communicating ESG progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Guide clients through the implementation of ESG frameworks and ensure integration of sustainability strategies into their business operations.
  • Work closely with senior management teams to deliver actionable, hands-on solutions that advance ESG and net-zero targets.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all project milestones and reports, maintaining strong client relationships throughout the process.


Professional and Personal Attributes:

  • Proven experience in delivering ESG projects, with hands-on involvement in applying ESG frameworks such as TCFD, GRI, or SASB.
  • Strong expertise in carbon accounting, including carbon footprint calculation, carbon reduction planning, and offset strategies.
  • Experience preparing and delivering ESG Annual Reports and TCFD-aligned disclosures to meet client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, ensuring high-quality, client-focused delivery.
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on achieving results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ESG concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Passionate about sustainability, with a focus on achieving net-zero and ESG goals in a hands-on, results-driven capacity.
