Job Title: Fleet Drivers (20 positions available) Locations: Suffolk (Barton mills & Bury St Edmounds, Norfolk (Waveney, Kings Lynn & Hellesdon), Essex (Southend & Chelmsford), Hertfordshire (Stevange), Cambridgeshire (Peterborough), Bedfordshire (Bedford) Working Hours: Shift 1: 06:00 - 14:00 Shift 2: 14:00 - 22:00 7 days a week Estimated 37.5 hours per week Job Summary: We are seeking two dedicated Fleet Drivers to join our team at each site. The primary responsibility is the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles, mainly from Trust locations to workshops and other designated vehicle repairers. Occasional pickups from other locations may be required. Drivers must ensure all vehicles are driven safely and economically, following Trust policies. Extended road tests during both collection and delivery will be necessary to confirm vehicles are ready for Trust use. Flexibility in start and finish times and working days is required due to varying operational needs. Key Responsibilities: Communication: Relay general and vehicle-specific information to workshop staff, make-ready staff, and station managers. Vehicle Collection and Delivery: Transport Trust vehicles between Trust sites and external sites/agents. Extended Road Tests: Perform extended road tests on vehicles post-repair to ensure readiness for service. Vehicle Checks: Conduct checks on tyres, lights, oil, coolant, and fuel according to Trust Policy before driving. Reactive Planning: Adapt daily work plans based on operational requirements and changes. Reporting Defects: Report any defects found during collection, delivery, or road tests to the appropriate Trust personnel. Representation and Driving Manner: Drive in a manner that reflects the responsibility of the Trust, especially when operating high-profile vehicles like A&E Double Staffed Ambulances (DSAs). Safe Keeping of Issued Items: Ensure the security of fuel cards and mobile phones issued during work periods and report any loss or theft immediately. Maintaining Contact: Keep the Bank Driver Co-ordinator or Single Point of Contact (SPOC) informed about availability for work. Record Keeping: Complete necessary records, including vehicle daily checks and timesheets, in both paper and electronic formats.
