Job Title: Buildings Facilities SupervisorReports To: Data Centre Buildings ManagerLocation: LondonJob Purpose: The Buildings Facilities Supervisor oversees all London Data Centre buildings, a pivotal role within a prestigious 5* DC campus in Europe, currently comprising 5 DCs in London’s Docklands. This role involves taking ownership of the data centres, excluding critical plant, and driving operational excellence. Responsibilities range from the physical building fabric to office coffee machines, requiring meticulous planning and prioritisation.The Building Management Team is tasked with maintaining and enhancing buildings, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, legislation, and relevant ISO standards. The role focuses on continuous improvement of service quality and environment, in collaboration with Risk & Compliance to ensure legislative adherence. This includes managing major FM providers for correct paperwork and tracking.The supervisor oversees subcontractors and ensures health and safety within the scope of works, managing all assets related to fire doors, water access, emergency lights, etc.Key Accountabilities:Effective maintenance of existing building fabric and grounds, and responsibility for planning and delivering fabric enhancements.Managing project works related to building maintenance or enhancement, including RAMS, permits, and completion sign-off.Exploring and communicating innovations in building management and DC fabric to the manager.Ensuring site compliance with water management (L8), LOLER, fire risk assessments, fuel management, environmental (EA), HSE, fixed wire testing, noise assessments, roof access, waste management, FGAS, TM44, DSEAR, fire stopping, and fire door inspections.Maintaining compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and Business Continuity legislation for fire safety, environmental management, and business continuity practices.Documenting and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans with the DC Buildings Manager.Tracking and resolving building support-related incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformities in a timely manner.Supporting audits and providing evidence of compliance as required.Recording and managing risks using the central DC Operations risk register.Liaising with external suppliers for goods and services provision.Communicating with CSM/Sales and customers to ensure the Customer Experience is fully supported by DC Ops.Managing office spaces, including stationery, coffee machines, furniture, office relocations, drinking water, and vending services.Contributing to the annual Energy Saving Plan.Managing assets within the CAFM system and ensuring ongoing maintenance.Conducting ‘Landlord/Tenant’ area checks to ensure areas remain well cared for and appropriate for customers.Performing daily and weekly building checks to ensure smooth operation of the site.Ensuring the front of house is clean and presentable to clients and monitoring the quality of the 3rd party cleaning contractor.
