Storage Engineer

Storage Engineer Location : East Midlands, UK (Derby, Nottingham, Leicester) Clearance Requirement : SC Clearance (required) and willing to undergo DV clearance. Must be a UK National (No Dual Nationality). Position Type : Full-Time, On-site (Client site, 5 days a week) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to join our team in the East Midlands. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of storage technology principles and hands-on experience with Dell EMC storage solutions. The role requires on-site presence at the client location, with responsibilities ranging from daily storage checks to providing storage support for various teams and projects. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations : Perform daily storage and system health checks. Manage Dell EMC VNX, Unity, Isilon environments, including Disk & CRU replacements. Handle Storage Management tasks such as LUN/Volume provisioning, expansion requests, and host zoning. Reporting and Analysis : Provide performance statistics and reporting upon request. Deliver weekly VNX NAS reporting and monthly capacity reports. Management and Support : Oversee RecoverPoint Management. Collaborate with Customer/Account Teams and Vendors to schedule maintenance activities. Offer storage support for Linux, Wintel, Applications, Backup, Oracle, and SQL environments. Provide storage support for project teams. Incident and Problem Management : Follow ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change management. Conduct Root Cause Analysis and participate in Service Transition Tasks. Required Skills and Experience Technology Expertise : Proficient in EMC VNX, Unity, Isilon, and Cisco MDS/DCNM. Experience with Linux and Windows environments. Scripting skills in Bash and Powershell. Familiarity with Unisphere, Navicli, and Superna (Eyeglass). Professional Experience : 3-4 years of system administration experience. Intermediate understanding of Dell EMC Storage Technology. Strong problem-solving skills. Certification : EMC Storage certification is desirable. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a similar role within a secure environment.
