Join Our Team Salary: £37,589 with the opportunity to earn: £39,404 Further salary progression available subject to performance in role Additional allowances: £1,902.18 per annum Bonus: An annual bonus of up to £4k Working Pattern: Days (37.5 hours per week) Location: Sellafield, West Cumbria What will the successful candidate be doing: We are looking for Motor Vehicle Mechanics to join our team at Sellafield. Responsibilities include: * Inspect, diagnose and repair the fleet of vehicles and mobile plant to ensure they operate in a safe and reliable condition. * Record effective maintenance history, and as signatory take legal responsibility for all maintenance activities completed in accordance with Operator Licensing and site procedures to ensure regulations are met. * Inspect and prepare all vehicles legally required to complete an MOT Test prior to testing at a DVSA appointed test centre, to ensure a 'First Time Pass Rate' to maintain the OCRS Score (Operator Compliance Risk Score). * To work unsupervised and independently or in a small team, using own knowledge, skill, initiative and judgement to safely progress work, referring to a line manager or a relevant Subject Matter Expert (SME) if necessary to resolve complex situations. * Follow and fully complete the required Maintenance Inspection checklists, as per the work packs provided by the Team Leader, noting all defects and required maintenance to ensure quality service standards are achieved. * Actively coach and mentor apprentices, colleagues and others to assist in knowledge transfer and strengthening of the site Motor Mechanic capability. * Give advice, guidance and share knowledge and experience within the department. * Liaise and work with Contractors to achieve effective and efficient working. * Work to all applicable maintenance standards and ensure that they are routinely applied so that quality and standardisation of work delivery become normal working practice. * Attend and actively take part in all work meetings giving advice and guidance on areas of knowledge and expertise. The Ideal Candidate: Essential Skills: * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Motor Vehicle Repair * Successful completion of a Recognised apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Repair (HGV/Mobile Plant/Car) * Hold a Full Car Driving Licence * Knowledge and understanding of modern-day vehicle diagnostic equipment, i.e. Snap On, Jaltest, TEXA Desirable Skills: * Hold Category C or C+E (HGV Class 1/ Class 2) driving entitlement or have the ability to achieve it. * Hold Driver CPC Qualification or have the ability to achieve it * Hold a Fork Truck operators Licence or have the ability to achieve it Why choose Sellafield?
