Job Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of development control and environmental functions within the Environment service.
- Assess and manage development-related matters in line with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
- Provide professional technical advice on development control and environmental issues.
- Work with internal teams, external organisations and other stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
- Prepare clear reports, recommendations and technical information as required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development control and environmental services.
Must-Have Requirements
- Relevant professional or technical experience in development control, planning, engineering, facilities or an environmental discipline.
- Good understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess information, identify issues and provide practical solutions.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and external organisations.
- Previous experience working within a local authority or public-sector environment.
- Relevant professional qualification or membership of a recognised professional body.
- Experience of working on development control or environmental matters within a local government setting.
- Knowledge of the London planning and development environment.
