Job Requirements / Description
James Lewis has been appointed to assist a multi-dimensional MEP-led Principal Contractor in North London in their search for an MEP Design Manager to join the team. Our client works across a range of project sectors which include data centres, education, commercial, healthcare and science & technology in and around London and the Southeast. They provide services from design, through construction and fit out to the maintenance of the projects, effectively offering an end-to-end solution.
Due to a combination of both existing projects and a strong pipeline of work into 2025, they are looking to recruit an additional Design Manager ideally with experience in critical infrastructure projects. The role is hybrid with a combination of home, office and site, with sites situated across London, Hertfordshire, Essex and the M3/M4 corridor. For this initial project you will need to be within a commutable distance to Harlow, Essex. There is a further opportunity for a similar role based out of west London.
The MEP Design Manager will have responsibility for:
* Design management of D&B projects from inception through to completion (RIBA Stages 0 – 7). This covers management of design processes associated with design, installation, full testing, commissioning, proving of successful integration, demonstration, handover, sign off and training of the systems to the client and their appointed representatives
* You will be involved in all key stages, Pre-Construction Phase, Construction/Testing and Commissioning Phase
* Ensure that statutory obligations are met in full and ensure that the business is not exposed to undue risks.
* Ensure that records, data, and systems are maintained up to date and in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures
* Be client-facing with the ability to maintain excellent client relationships
* Work with all stakeholders to identify opportunities in line with business strategy
To be considered you will require a relevant degree level qualification in an Engineering discipline (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services), be a CSCS card holder relevant to the role, have first aid at work and either IOSH or SMSTS, along with a full UK driving license.
At times the needs of a project may require you to travel and stay away from home on a short-term basis and although not a necessity, a willingness/ability to do so will be seen as an advantage
