Job Title: Surveying Manager (Repairs and Maintenance) Contract Type: Temporary 5 Months Office Location: Hackney, with travel across South London  Work Arrangement: Hybrid (office, home, and site-based across Housing Stock in the South of England) Day Rate: £260 - £300 per day- Inside IR35 Role Overview: We are seeking a Temporary Surveying Manager to join the Repairs and Maintenance team until approximately January 2025. This role involves overseeing a team of Senior Surveyors, managing high-quality case management for the Minor Works team, and ensuring the seamless operation of surveying activities from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Manage a team of Senior Surveyors, ensuring all surveying enquiries for Minor Works are handled efficiently. Provide customer-focused professional building surveying services and contract management for Minor Works projects. Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, offering high levels of technical support. Ensure the team meets all legal requirements, specifications, and manages Minor Works projects to resolution. Maintain Trust property assets in line with allocated works and budgets. Collaborate with Minor Works Partnership Managers to ensure timely execution of works. Key Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience in people management. Ability to prioritise own and team workload with excellent time management skills. Experience in managing a variety of Minor Works and Repairs surveying jobs. Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations, including risk management and specification production. Excellent understanding of financial regulations and standing orders. Comprehensive knowledge of H&S legislation, particularly CDM 2015. Experience in managing contractors and consultants. Proficient in budget monitoring with strong commercial and financial acumen. Excellent organisational and planning skills, capable of delivering against demanding objectives. Strong customer focus and excellent customer service skills. Working knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft packages, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project. Sector-specific knowledge and experience working in the Social Housing sector, particularly in maintenance.
