Job Description
Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland.
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who has offline CAD/CAM knowledge with the ability to program 3,4 and 5 axis milling machines. The candidate must have the ability to work on complex products and liaise with cross functional teams both internally and externally.
Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Offline Programmer Key skills:
- Experience of offline programming
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems
- Produce, update, maintain manufacturing documentation
- Apprentice trained
- Interpret Engineering drawings and understand GDT
- Design bespoke jigs/fixturing to support manufacturing and inspection
- Produce estimates
- Experience of machining various materials including Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Titanium
- Knowledge of surface treatments
- Interpret CMM inspection reports
- Liaise with cross functional teams during NPI phase of product development
Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Offline Programmer Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Creo Parametric software (formally PROE)
- Experience of using Vericut simulation software
- Experience of Fanuc, Mazatrol, Heidenhain CNC controls
- Working knowledge of Renishaw probing routines
- Online programming experience
- DFM/DFA experience
- Knowledge of ISO G-Code
Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Offline Programmer Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Good experience of processes and product to allow a level of independent working
- Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan and prioritise
- Range of technical skills
- Ability to challenge and question existing processes based on knowledge and experience
- Can demonstrate initiative with a flexible approach to all types of work
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer literate
