DescriptionJob Title: Technical & Solution Architect (Distributed Ledger / Regulated Financial Services)Location: Hybrid - remote + regular on-site (London)This is a hands-on technical leadership position in the making.You will work across product management, engineering, and client-facing discussions to evolve the design of a distributed ledger-based post-trade platform operating within regulated financial services. You will initially contribute as a senior engineer while progressively taking ownership of system-level architecture, solution design, and technical direction.This role is ideal for someone who wants to: Move from senior engineer to architect; Work on real financial market infrastructure problems; Combine deep technical thinking with business context; Shape a product at an early stage.Why join us? The role offers a steep learning curve spanning technology, regulation, and market structure, along with a clear path to grow into a formal Technical & Solution Architect position.RequirementsResponsibilities:Architecture & System Design:o Design scalable, secure distributed systems in regulated environmentso Define and evolve system architecture, APIs, and integration patternso Apply appropriate software design patterns and architectural principleso Contribute to smart contract and ledger design decisionso Ensure auditability, resilience, and operational robustnessDistributed Ledger & Digital Assets:Work with distributed ledger technologies and smart contracts. Design models for:o Tokenised assetso Natively digital assetso Atomic settlemento DvP and RvP mechanismso Central bank digital currency (CBDC) integration concepts· Evaluate trade-offs between on-chain and off-chain componentsFinancial Services Context:o Translate regulatory and market structure requirements into technical designo Understand settlement models and post-trade infrastructureo Work within business frameworks such as CSDR and GDPR.Engineering & Implementation:o Contribute production-quality code in Java, JavaScript, Solidity, SQLo Review code and guide best practiceso Improve CI/CD, testing strategies, and observabilityCommunication & Influenceo Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, product management, clients, and regulators (where applicable)o Tailor messaging to different audiences.o Use structured thinking and persuasive communication to amplify the impact of our technology.o Contribute to technical documentation and client materials.Requirements:Technical:o Strong experience designing and building software productso Solid understanding of distributed systems principleso Experience with distributed ledgers and/or blockchain platformso Familiarity with tokenisation and digital asset conceptso Strong API design experience (REST, event-driven architectures, etc.)o Working knowledge of: Java; JavaScript; Solidity; SQLFinancial Services Knowledge (or strong motivation to learn):o Understanding of post-trade processeso Familiarity with: CSDR; Central securities depositories; DvP and RvP models; Atomic settlemento Appreciation of regulatory constraints in financial infrastructureCommunication & Leadership Potentialo Excellent written and verbal communicationo Ability to adjust technical depth depending on audienceo Structured and persuasive thinkingo Comfortable operating in ambiguityo Ambition to grow into a Technical & Solution Architect roleo Ownership mindset and startup resilienceWhat Success Looks Like:Within 6–12 months, success in this role means owning key architectural decisions and leading solution design discussions both internally and with partners.
