Full TimeBirmingham, West MidlandsPosted 20 hours agoReturn to Job SearchSenior Geoenvironmental ConsultantSalary: 40,000 – 50,000Location: BirminghamA well-established environmental and geotechnical consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their Birmingham team. The role will suit an experienced geoenvironmental professional looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied project portfolio, with a good balance of site work, technical reporting and project management.You will work across a range of contaminated land, ground investigation and remediation projects, supporting projects from initial investigation through to assessment, reporting and remediation.The Role:Managing and supervising ground investigations and contaminated land assessmentsProducing Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Site Investigation reportsReviewing historical, geological and environmental dataDeveloping conceptual site models and undertaking contamination risk assessmentsSoil, groundwater and gas monitoring and samplingManaging subcontractors and site investigation contractorsInterpreting laboratory data and assessing potential pollutant linkagesProducing remediation strategies and validation reportsSupporting remediation projects and overseeing validation worksPreparing technical reports and presenting findings to clientsManaging projects, budgets and programmesLiaising with clients, regulators, contractors and other consultantsSupporting and mentoring junior members of the teamRequirements:Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology or a related disciplineStrong experience within geoenvironmental consultancyExperience delivering contaminated land and ground investigation projectsGood understanding of UK contaminated land legislation and guidanceExperience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigationsStrong technical report writing skillsCommercial awareness and experience managing projectsFull UK driving licenceThis is a good opportunity for a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant looking to progress their career within a growing consultancy, with exposure to technically varied projects and the opportunity to take on increased responsibility across project delivery and client management.
