Workshop Engineer – Based near to Braintree, Essex | £35,000–£40,000 + Bonus
Workshop Engineer sought near Braintree for a specialist engineering business, offering £35,000–£40,000, twice-yearly bonus, training and excellent work-life balance.

About the Role:
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing and inspecting a range of mechanical and powered equipment, including plant, hoists and winches.
The role is predominantly workshop based, giving you the opportunity to work hands-on with mechanical and hydraulic systems. You may occasionally travel to customer sites, so a full driving licence is required.
Your day-to-day work will include fault finding, servicing, repairs and general maintenance.
Experience with hoists, winches or plant equipment would be advantageous, although specialist product knowledge is not essential as full training will be provided.
About You:
We are looking for a Workshop Engineer with a strong mechanical and hydraulic background who enjoys practical, hands-on engineering work.
You could come from a plant, lifting equipment, agricultural, heavy engineering or similar mechanical background. Experience working with hoists, winches or plant machinery would be highly beneficial.
You will need:
Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
A practical approach to fault finding and repairs
Good attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
A full driving licence
A genuine interest in developing specialist engineering skills
To be successful in this role, you may have worked as a:
Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Workshop Fitter, Workshop Technician, Service Engineer, Hoist Engineer, Plant Mechanic, Maintenance Engineer, Lifting Equipment Engineer, Mechanical Fitter.
