Operations Planner

Salary:
Up to £37,000 dependant on experience
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Hours: full-time, on a 3-week rotating shift pattern -
  • Monday to Friday (2 weeks)
  • Wednesday to Sunday (1 week)
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day planning of operational activities, coordinating resources effectively and supporting the delivery of a safe, efficient and customer-focused service. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll be responsible for planning operations, coordinating labour requirements and responding quickly to changing operational demands.

This position would suit someone with planning or logistics experience who enjoys problem-solving, thrives under pressure and is looking to develop their career within a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Schedule and allocate operational resources to meet business requirements.
  • Coordinate labour requirements and support operational teams.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Respond quickly to operational changes and resolve planning issues.
  • Monitor workloads and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and planning information.
  • Support continuous improvements to operational planning processes.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience within an operations, logistics or planning environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of operational priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to strict deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required, including working as part of a weekend rota.
