Job Description
Believ: ABOUT US
At Believ, formerly known as Liberty Charge, we're committed to sustainable transport being accessible to everyone. We're a Charge Point Operator (CPO) on a mission to create the UK's most reliable electric vehicle charging network that doesn't cost the earth and leaves no one behind. Providing equitable access to electric vehicle charging, and achieving cleaner air for all, is at the heart of the Believ mission. We work closely with local authorities and businesses to deliver reliable, high quality charging networks at pace, at scale and at zero cost. We offer all the advantages of being a scale-up business, but with the added security and long-term backing from well-known parents - Liberty Global (who also own our delivery partner, Virgin Media O2) and Zouk Capital (who manage the Government's Charging Investment Infrastructure Fund). You'll be joining this exciting journey at the start of our scale-up phase, and working with us to hit the ambitious targets our shareholders have set. You'll become part of a passionate and supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic and result-driven environment.
About the role
The Senior Programme Manager is where Believ's programme becomes real. You will lead a multi-disciplinary build squad and own the delivery of every site in your portfolio — from design and connection application through to installation, energisation and handover into operations. Reporting to the Regional Build Director, this is a hands-on leadership role covering Squad Leadership, Programme & Site Delivery, Design & Pre-Construction, Connections & Metering & Energisation, Contractor Management, Customer & Client & Community engagement, Commissioning, Quality & Handover, and Safety, Data & Reporting. Your squad is deliberately built to be self-sufficient, holding the capability to take a site the whole way from handover to go-live without handing it around the business — a significant amount of autonomy with a correspondingly clear line of accountability.
About you
At Believ, we are building a culture that attracts and retains the best talent. We are a dedicated and high-performing team, accustomed to working at pace in an ever-evolving industry, and we are looking for people who are as passionate as us about cutting carbon emissions and providing cleaner air for all.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes and skills:
Proven experience managing multi-site infrastructure or utilities delivery, with accountability for programme, cost and quality across a live pipeline of sites.
Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and managing contractors on site.
Practical understanding of DNO connection processes and what it takes to get a new connection energised.
Experience of works in the public highway, including permitting, streetworks and reinstatement, or a strong track record in comparable civils and electrical delivery.
Strong programme and planning discipline, with the confidence to forecast honestly and re-plan when things change.
A genuine safety-first mindset, with the authority and willingness to stop work.
Confident communicator, credible with a contractor's foreman, a council officer and a resident at their front door.
Comfortable working digitally — capturing data at source, using delivery systems properly, and expecting the same of your squad.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to be on site regularly across your patch.
