Job Description

Executive Assistant to Financial Adviser Hailsham
Hybrid
£35,000 starting salary, depending on experience

A well-established St. James's Place financial planning practice in Hailsham is looking for an Executive Assistant to support one of its senior Financial Advisers.

This is much more than a traditional EA or administration role.

You'll work closely with the Adviser to manage their day-to-day workload, prepare for client meetings, keep cases and actions moving, and make sure nothing gets missed. You'll become a key point of contact between the Adviser, clients and the wider practice.

The role would suit someone who already has experience in financial services and enjoys working at the centre of a busy advice practice. You'll have plenty of responsibility, variety and the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge alongside an experienced Adviser.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing the Adviser's inbox, taking ownership of actions and making sure they are progressed
  • Preparing for client meetings and ensuring the Adviser has everything they need
  • Attending selected client meetings, taking clear notes and handing outcomes over to the wider team
  • Managing and chasing the Adviser's pipeline, keeping outstanding actions and cases moving
  • Coordinating with Client Servicing and Technical Administration teams
  • Delegating appropriate tasks and monitoring their progress
  • Arranging presentation and follow-up meetings once paraplanning is complete
  • Responding to client and technical queries by phone and email

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have previous experience within financial services, wealth management or financial planning.

Experience within a St. James's Place practice would be particularly useful, while a background in paraplanning, adviser support or technical administration would also be highly relevant.

You don't need to be a fully qualified paraplanner or adviser. What's important is that you understand the financial planning environment, are confidentdealing with clients and colleagues, and have the organisational skills to stay on top of a busy Adviser's workload.

You'll need to be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do. If you spot something that needs sorting, you'll be the sort of person who gets on with it.

What's on offer
  • £35,000 starting salary, depending on experience
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible working pattern between 9am and 5pm
  • 30 days' holiday + bank holidays
  • Employer pension contribution
  • Private healthcare after probation
  • Paid CII membership
  • Support and funding towards professional qualifications
  • Ongoing training and development
  • The opportunity to develop your career within a growing wealth management practice

If you're already working in financial services and are looking for a role with more responsibility, closer exposure to an Adviser and the opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
