We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Event & Operations Manager with a keen eye for detail to join the Outernet team to play a central role in the planning and seamless delivery of our events (acting as the primary point of contact) and to manage BAU daily operations to an exceptional level, overseeing health and safety compliance maintaining a secure and professional environment for our audience and our clients. This role suits a candidate who is looking to develop new skills and work with a team that is always willing to train and mentor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On-site delivery of all operational aspects of our in-house events and contracts and acting as the primary point of contact for the events team to manage each event.
- For smaller projects, oversee and manage the operational planning and delivery following all processes, systems, and working templates to ensure Outernet’s working methods are consistent and excellent.
- Prepare Event Production Schedules and an Event Management Plan
- Liaise and oversee all third-party suppliers including production crews.
- Oversight of event safety, working with a H&S Advisor where necessary.
- Book central services such as security, cleaning, technicians, or other professionals for clients.
- Assisting on-site security with Event Control Management.
- Stewarding management, as and when requested.
- Managing day-to-day BAU operations, including overseeing on-site engineering & Security contractor for safety (SOPs). Oversee all day and opening/closing of Outernet Spaces
- Working closely with district Central Services to quote and book specific services (security, cleaning, bespoke as needed) and ensure timely, efficient, and perfect service.
- Acting as a point of contact for the public to address daily operational needs.
- Any other duties as and when requested.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Operations experience
- Excellent IT literacy including Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Solid knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements concerning health and safety.
- Ability to understand and commit to legal requirements/paperwork such as risk assessments/method statements.
- An understanding of and a demonstrable commitment to promoting Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion principles.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Health & Safety Qualification (such as IOSH)
- Experience of Event Site Management
- First Aid Certificate
