The opportunity
You will be responsible for the upstream of procurement activity, drafting procurement strategies, market category management and downstream Contract Management as required. You will be directly reporting to the Supply Chain Executive, as a Senior Supply Chain Specialist you will be responsible for procurement of goods, works and services including performance of large commercial framework arrangements as well as maintaining long term value through partnership with important and strategic suppliers which are a large part of supporting EDF Energy Nuclear Operations fleet of Nuclear Power Stations.
This is a hybrid role, 2-3 days in our Gloucester Business Park office.

What you will be doing as a Senior Procurement Specialist
Procurement Management:
- Formulate and execute robust procurement strategies within a complex commercial environment.
- Engage in high-level negotiations with premier suppliers to secure optimal terms and conditions.
- Guarantee the timely and cost-efficient acquisition of goods and services.
- Leverage extensive expertise to assess and select suppliers based on quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding, management, and communication of supply chain risks to senior stakeholders and internal teams.
Process Improvement:
- Proactively identify and capitalise on opportunities for process enhancement within procurement and administrative operations.
- Integrate industry best practices to elevate efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Optimise resource utilisation by streamlining workflows for both individual and team performance.
Compliance:
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
Who you are
- Experience working within a procurement and supply chain environment.
- Possess a high standard of Procurement competence in key areas of sourcing, process knowledge, contracting skills and supplier management.
- Negotiation skills that drive positive business outcomes and ability to influence at all levels.
- Project management skills, product awareness, commercial acumen, financial awareness, risk, and opportunity management.
- CIPS L4/5 qualification, working towards or equivalent standard is desired.
- Must either hold Security Clearance or be a UK national eligible to obtain necessary clearances.
